The disorganized national exam administration has not had impact on the National Selection for Entry to Higher Education Institutions (SNMPTN). The Chairman of Indonesia State Higher Education Institution Rectors Council (MRPTNI), M Idrus A Paturusi, said that the national exam remains to be one of the requisites for the SNMPTN besides report card marks from the first semester to the fifth semester. The most important thing is that students must pass the minimum marks of 5.5.

The Secretary of the Central SNMPTN Committee, Rochmat Wahab, said that the passing from senior high school national exam will be announced on May 24, 2013. One week before the announcement, the SNMPTN committee will have received the copy of the national exam results from the Education and Culture Ministry. If the announcement on the national exam results is postponed, the committee has no idea whether the announcement on the SNMPTN will be postponed too.

Rochmat said that the students should not worry about the failure of passing due to technical faults of national exam. He ensured that even though the exam paper was photocopied, it can still be scanned and read. Barcodes are still readable by means of laser beam.
