The study of HIV/AIDS will be included in the curriculum for the faculty of medicine in all universities across Indonesia. The material for this subject is currently being prepared by team specializing in HIV/AIDS team. Team member Dr. Sumardi says by including HIV/ AIDS in the curriculum, students of medicine are hoped to recognize HIV/AIDS in a comprehensive manner early on. Previously, these students only received training about HIV/AIDS after they completed their studies.
HIV/AIDS cases in Indonesia have spread even wider across the nation. There have been many reported cases about mothers and children. Therefore, this should be prevented by including education about HIV/AIDS in the educational curriculum as early as junior and senior high school.
