Registration for the Joint State University Selection Process (SBMPTN) started on Monday (13/5). However, the process, which is being operated by 62 higher education institutes through a written examination, has received less than a warm welcome from candidates.
In fact, little information about registration for the SBMPTN was available on the first day. This was stated by Sinta, a grade XII student in SMAN 9 in Bandung.
The chairman of the 2013 SBMPTN Committee, Akhmaloka, said that registration online could be carried out until June 7 at http://www.ujian.sbmptn.or.id. Registration is open to high school graduates from 2011, 2012, and 2013, while payment of the registration fee is to be made through Bank Mandiri.
As part of the SBMPTN process, the government covers the registration fee for applicants enrolled in the Bidikmisi scheme.
Separately, registration fees are to be paid through PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. This marks the sixth year in a row that Bank Mandiri has been designated as the payment bank. Applicants are advised to register early to avoid a last minute rush.
