The University of Indonesia (UI) ranking in the global level surged to 325th position, or rising 33 points from the previous rank in 2015. The ranking was done by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Ranking 2016/2017 on 916 universities in 81 countries in the world released yesterday.

From the QS University Ranking annual publication, UI managed to maintain their position as the best university in Indonesia for five consecutive years. QS University Ranking is an official ranking made as reference for the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education to measure higher education institutional quality towards world class.

UI Rector Muhammad Anis said the achievment is not separate from efforts of academicians in developing the culture of research and innovation as well as increasing publications in international scientific journals.

Assessment by the QS team, UI has a number of superiorities in the reputation of its graduates and academic system.  Another indicator is the significant increase in publications of Scopus indexed international proceedings as well as policy and efforts at internationalizing the student community and faculty.
