Curriculum or education teaching materials for “believers of nondenominational faiths” (penghayat kepercayaan) is compiled. The curriculum is aimed for learners in the primary school (SD) level until high school (SMA) and equivalents whose faith is in nondenominational faiths or Belief in One God (aliran kepercayaan kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa).
Director General of Culture Kemdikbud Hilmar Farid said, statistics-wise, the number of “believers of nondenominational faiths” (penghayat kepercayaan) to date still cannot yet be determined. However, it is estimated by the “believers of nondenominational faiths” themselves, their number reaches around 12 million people. From that figure, they claimed about 60 percent among them sit in school who now need education curriculum of the faith.
Director of Development of Kepercayaan terhadap Tuhan Yang Maha Esa and Tradition, Kemdikbud, Sri Hartini, added, the compilation of education curriculum for “believers of nondenominational faiths” is the mandate of Education and Culture Ministerial Regulation Number 27 Year 2016 on Kepercayaan terhadap Tuhan Yang Maha Esa Education Services in Education Units. Article 2 in the regulation states, the content of education of the faith is obligated to have a core competency and basic competency compiled by The Council of Belief in One God Indonesia or Majelis Luhur Kepercayaan terhadap Tuhan Yang Maha Esa Indonesia (MLKI).
