Education is one of the most important factors in sustainable development. Neglecting education sector will result in fatal impacts to sustainable development, said the Minister of National Education and Cultures, Muhadjir Effendi, in the Report Launch on International Commission on Financing Global Education Opportunity.
The Ministry via a press conference in Jakarta said that Global Education Monitoring Report 2016 which was launched early of this month shows evidence on the importance of education in realizing sustainable development. He said that secondary to higher education given universally until 2030 can prevent 200 thousand deaths due to disaster in 20 years.
He asserted that education development should comply with the UN’s based to act based on the 12 recommendations of the United Nations which is called Learning Generation. Muhadjir hoped that international cooperation in developing education will provide more contributions to quality improvement of humans’ life.
