Minister of National Education (Mendikbud), Muhadjir Effendy, while visiting Garut, West Java, Thursday (22/9), instructed all schools affected by the flood to commence their educational activities (KBM) on Monday (26/9). Department of Education of Garut Regency recently issued a letter to temporarily suspend KBM.
Meanwhile, Directorate General of Primary and Secondary Education of Kemendikbud, Hamid Muhammad said that the department of education had provided two to three weeks as an emergency response period. The following week when a team from Kemendikbud will inspect affected schools is called the rehab period.
Head of Department of Education of Garut Regency, Mahmud said that a flash flood in Garut caused schools to temporarily stop KBM. The mud and water from the flood made it impossible to continue normal school activities.
