The result of these assessments under the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) with 23 percent, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) with 8.4 percent.
Meanwhile, the Education Minister (Mendikbud) Muhadjir Effendy said that during the past two years, the development of education has contributed in improving the Human Development Index (HDI) by 0.75 points from 68.8 in 2014 to become 69.55 in 2015 with the education index increased by 0.82 points from 60.18 into 61.00 in 2015.

Muhadjir explained the rise in the HDI was due to an increase in average length of time in school and the population aged 25+ from 7.73 years to 7.83 years. In addition, the increased expectations of length of time in school also increased from 12.39 years to 12.55 years.

Muhadjir added, Kemendikbud continued to improve performance on priority programs in the fields of education and culture in order to improve access and quality of education services. One is the strengthening of vocational education as a strategic step to productivity and competitiveness. Meanwhile, culture is made a tool to oversee national education as part of efforts to strengthen the nation’s character.
