Minister of Education and Culture Muhadjir Effendy stressed, the Smart Indonesia program is one of the programs to build the spirit of nationalism and the spirit of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. In addition, it is also to foster the spirit of mutual cooperation. It was announced by Muhadjir during a working visit of the Submission and Checking of the Smart Indonesia Program, Wednesday (16/11), on the island of Barrang Lompo, Makassar, South Sulawesi.
In some occasions, Muhadjir conveyed various education policies that have been and to be taken, among others, the obligation of teachers to work or be in school for eight hours. The school principal is no longer burdened with the task of teaching; teachers are also not burdened to make scientific works if not associated with education practices taught. Regarding the national exam, according to the results of the meeting with House Commission X, would be in moratorium. The national examination is replaced by a test of the locally-based curriculum.
Secretary of Makassar City Ibrahim Saleh said, in the region there are 22,517 recipients of the Indonesia Smart Cards for primary school (SD) level and as many as 6,220 for the junior high school (SMP) level. On the island of Barrang Lompo, the total number of students holding Indonesia Smart Cards is 577 students. Disbursement of government aid through the Indonesia Smart Card in 2016 has already reached 78 percent.
