Starting next June, the University of Indonesia will for the first time hold a competency test for final year students. This test is performed by UI Vocational Education Program in collaboration with the National Professional Certification Board (BNSP).
Director of UI’s Vocational Education Center (PPV) Sigit Pranowo Hadiwardoyo said, Saturday (25/3), that the competency test will be done simultaneously for 11 courses/ study programs, including Accounting, Office Business, Information Management, Communications, Health, and Tourism. The team of examiners will involve an element of BNSP.
Sigit explained that the competency test will take about two months because students should make their presentations one by one. There are about 1,300 seniors of the D-3 program that follow this competency test. The competency test materials have been prepared by PPV UI and BNSP by involving relevant industry. BNSP also issued professional standards of the vocational studies program. While the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education prepared the Indonesia National Work Competence Indonesia (SKKNI) related to the relevant field of vocational education.
Director General of Institutional Science & Technology and Higher Education Patdono Suwignyo added SKKNI contains the formulation of workability covering aspects of knowledge and skills. In addition, it also contains working attitudes relevant to the duties and terms of office as set by legislation.
