Para Hafiz Al-Quran Ditawarkan Masuk IPB

Dalam keterangan resmi pada Selasa (04/04), Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), yang dinobatkan sebagai salah satu universitas terbaik di Tanah Air pada 2016, menawarkan program baru yang akan memberikan keuntungan untuk para hafiz Al-Quran untuk mengikuti seleksi masuk IPB tahun 2017/2018.  kata pejabat pada Selasa (04/04 ).

Wakil Rektor Bidang Akademik dan Kemahasiswaan, Yonny Koesmaryono menuturkan, skema yang ditawarkan untuk para hafiz Al-Quran tersebut yaitu melalui jalur seleksi Prestasi Internasional dan Nasional (PIN).

Dalam aturan baru untuk jalur PIN tersebut menyebutkan bahwa calon mahasiswa yang mampu menghafal 30 juz Al-Quran akan diapresiasi dengan nilai tambahan yang setara dengan mereka yang telah memenangkan kompetisi sains tingkat internasional. Sedangkang, calon mahasiswa yang hanya sanggup menghafal 15 juz juga akan diapresiasi dengan nilai tambahan setara kompetisi sains tingkat nasional.

Yonny mengatakan, calon mahasiswa yang mendaftar ke IPB melalui skema ini harus menunjukkan sertifikat dari lembaga kredibel yang membuktikan bahwa ia seorang hafiz Al Qur’an. Selain itu, mereka juga harus mengikuti tes menghafal al-Quran. Para Hafiz ini dapat memilih fakultas apa pun yang ada di IPB.

IPB mulai melakukan seleksi masuk bagi calon mahasiswa dengan prestasi khusus, sebagai alternatif dari seleksi masuk jalur umum, yaitu ketika menerima para finalis kompetisi sains sejak tahun 1974.

IPB – sebagai sebuah perguruan tinggi negara (PTN) di Jawa Barat yang banyak mengeluarkan riset  – diaugerahi oleh Kementerian Riset Teknologi dan Pendidikan Tinggi (Kemenristekdikti) sebagai satu perguruan tinggi terbaik di Indonesia jpada 2015 dan 2016.

Dalam rilis QS World University Ranking 2016, IPB ditempatkan pada peringkat 191 di Asia dan peringkat kelima di Tanah Air setelah Universitas Indonesia (UI), Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) dan Universitas Airlangga (Unair).

Koran Reciters to Get Leg Up in IPB Entrance Selection

Bogor Institute of Agriculture, or IPB – one of the country’s best universities in 2016, is offering a new program which will give an advantage to reciters of the Holy Koran in its 2017/2018 entrance test, its official said on Tuesday (04/04).

Yonny Koesmaryono, IPB’s deputy rector for academic and student affairs, said the special entrance scheme for Koran reciters will be made part of its International and National Achievement Selection Program, or PIN.

According to the new rule, students who can recite 30 chapters of the Koran will be rewarded with additional entrance points equal to those awarded to winners of international-level science competition. While, students who can recite 15 chapters will get additional points equal to a victory at a national-level science competition, according to Yonny.

Yonny said  student applying to IPB through this scheme must show a certificate from a credible institution proving that he or she can recite the Koran. They must also submit to a recitation test as well. Koran reciters can apply to any faculty at the IPB.

The university has been accepting students with special achievement — as an alternative to the standard entrance test — since 1974 when it started accepting finalists from science competitions.

IPB – a state research university in West Java – was named as one of the best college in the country in 2015 and 2016 by the Research, Technology and Higher Education Ministry.

QS World University Ranking 2016 placed IPB in 191st place in Asia and fifth in the country, after the University of Indonesia, Bandung Institute of Technology, Yogyakarta’s University of Gadjah Mada and Surabaya’s Airlangga University.

Menristek Ajak PTS Tingkatkan Kualitas

Menteri Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi Mohamad Nasir, mengatakan perguruan tinggi swasta (PTS) harus memberikan fasilitas pendidikan yang baik kepada dosen dan mahasiswa. Ia mengajak PTS meningkatkan Angka Partisipasi Kasar (APK) Indonesia.

Menurut Nasir, dosen dan mahasiswa menjadi pemeran penting untuk pertumbuhan inovasi dari suatu perguruan tinggi. Karena itu, dosen dan mahasiswa harus mendapatkan fasilitas yang memadai. Hal itu dikatakan Nasir di depan para praktisi dan pengelola Perguruan Tinggi Swasta sekitar Bali, Ahad (9/4) malam di Denpasar.

Menurut Nasir, dilihat dari peringkat daya saing tenaga kerjanya Indonesia masih berada di peringkat ke-29 dari 138 negara. Untuk level ASEAN saja, Nasir mengatakan, Indonesia jauh dari Singapura yang berada di peringkat ke-2 dan Malaysia di peringkat ke-6. Nasir menegaskan, tingkat daya saing ini harus terus ditingkatkan agar secara linier meningkatkan pendapatan.

Yang menarik menurut Nasir adalah Angka Partisipasi Kasar (APK) Indonesia yang sangat aneh. Dengan jumlah perguruan tinggi sebanyak 4.529, APK Indonesia berada pada angka 31,5 persen. Angka tersebut sudah digabung antara Kemristekdikti dengan Kementerian Agama, namun masih tetap jauh tertinggal dari Thailand 51,2 persen, Singapura 82,7 persen bahkan Korea dengan APK 98,4 persen. Padahal, jumlah perguruan tingginya mungkin lebih sedikit dibanding Indonesia.

Oleh karena itu, Nasir meminta agar PTS yang terakreditasi C harus meningkat ke akreditasi B, dan Kopertis harus lakukan pendampingan. Sementara, PTS yang terakreditasi B harus meningkat ke A dengan tanggung jawab pendampingan di Ditjen Kelembagaan. Pendampingan ini menurutnya tahun lalu sudah mulai berhasil dan harus terus ditingkatkan.

 

Menristek Requests PTS to Upgrade their Quality

The Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, Mohamad Nasir, said that the Private University (PTS) should provide good education facilities to lecturers and university students. He invited PTS to upgrade the Indonesian Gross Enrollment Ratio (APK).

According to Nasir, lecturers and university students have an important role to play in the growth of innovation in a university. Therefore, lecturers and university students should receive adequate facilities. Nasir raised this point in front of practitioners and the management of Private Universities around Bali, on Sunday night in Denpasar.

He said that Indonesia was in the 29^th of 138 countries in terms of the workers’ competitiveness ranking. Even in the ASEAN region, Nasir noted that Indonesia still lags some way behind Singapore and Malaysia; Singapore is 2^nd and Malaysia 6^th.  Therefore, Nasir affirmed that this competitiveness should be improved to increase income.

Nasir found that the Indonesian Gross Enrollment Ratio (APK) was not in balance. From the number of universities totaling 4,529, Indonesian APK was 31.5 percent. This number was a combination between Kemristekdikti and the Ministry of Religious Affairs. However, this still lags some way behind Thailand (51.2 percent), Singapore (82.7 percent), and especially South Korea (98.4 percent). Even though, they have fewer universities than Indonesia.

Therefore, Nasir requested that the C- accredited PTS should upgrade to B- accreditation, and Kopertis should assist such universities.  Meanwhile, B- accredited PTS should upgrade to A- accreditation with responsibility for the assistance being with Ditjen of the Institution. According to Nasir, this assistance was achieved last year and should continue to be upgraded.

Tanpa Soal Animasi, Risiko Minim

Secara umum, Ujian Nasional Berbasis Komputer (UNBK) pekan lalu berjalan cukup lancet. Namun, insiden tidak terbacanya soal di komputer sebagai peserta harus menjadi perhatian. Dalam UNBK SMA dan MA mulai hari ini, problem itu jangan terulang.

Ujian Nasional (UN) tahun ini berbeda. Penyelenggaraan UN kelompok SMK serta SMA dan MA kali ini tak serempak. Pekan lalu 1,3 juta siswa SMK mengikuti UN terlebih dahulu. Lalu, mulai hari ini gentian 1,7 juta siswa SMA/MA yang harus berjibaku dengan soal UN selama empat hari ke depan.

Merujuk UN SMK pekan lalu, pelaksanaan ujian berlangsung relative tertib dan lancar. Isu kecurangan seperti  bocoran soal atau peredaran kunci jawaban yang sering mencoreng pelaksanaan ujian nyaris tidak ditemukan. Apalagi soal anak yang tertangkap tangan membawa kunci jawaban, juga belum ada laporan.

Satu-satunya masalah yang mencoreng pelaksanaan UN SMK terjadi pada hari terakhir ujian nasional berbasis komputer (UNBK). Tepatnya jadwal ujian teori kejuruan. Saat itu banyak siswa mengeluh karena sekitar sepuluh soal ujian tidak muncul di layar monitor. Soal yang tidak muncul tersebut berupa animasi atau video.

Kepala Pusat Penilaian Pendidikan (Puspendik) Balitbang Kemendikbud Nizam menjelaskan, gangguan teknis yang masif seperti yang terjadi pada hari terakhir UNBK SMK tidak bakal terulang di kelompok SMA/MA. Dia menjamin tidak ada soal ujian yang berupa video atau animasi untuk SMA/MA.

Namun, pemerintah harus tetap waspada. Sebab, masih ada beberapa kendala lain yang muncul saat UN SMK. Misalnya sambungan internet yang terputus, tidak tersambungnya server pusat dengan sekolah, dan pemanan listrik. Itu tentu bisa saja terjadi saat ujian SMA/MA.

Nizam berharap pelaksanaan UN SMK yang cenderung lancar bisa menular ke SMA/MA. Dia menyebutkan, sampai kemarin tidak muncul laporan peredaran kunci jawaban atau bocoran soal ujian. Meski begitu, Nizam mengatakan bahwa ada beberapa upaya supaya kendala-kendala dalam UNBK SMK tidak terajadi di SMA/MA.

Less Risk of No Questions in Animation Format

In general, the Computer-Based National Exam (UNBK) of SMK ran smoothly. However, the fact that the questions did not appear on several students’ computers was a serious concern. This was not expected to occur in UNBK of SMA and MA that starts today.

National Exam (UN) of 2017 is different as the UN implementation of SMK and SMA as well as MA are not all being run at the same time. Last week, 1.3 million SMK students took the UN for the first turn. The next turn will be 1.7 million SMA/MA students who face the four-day UN starting today.

The UN implementation of SMK ran smoothly last week. The issue of cheating such as the questions being leaked or the answer key distribution that often was a problem was barely found. There were also no reports regarding students cheating by using the answer keys.

The one and only problem that marred the UN implementation of SMK occurred on the final day of Computer Based National Exam (UNBK), specifically at the time of the vocational theory exam. Many students complained because around ten exam questions did not appear on the monitor screens. The questions were in animation and video format.

The Head of Education Assessment Center (Puspendik) of Balitbang Kemendikbud, Nizam, explained that this massive technical problem on the final day day of the UNBK SMK will not occur again in the UNBK of SMA/MA. He assured that there are no questions in the video or animation format for SMA/MA.

However, the government should be aware. This was because there were still other problems in the UN implementation of SMK, such as disconnected network, and power outages. These problems definitely could occur in the UN of SMA/MA.

Nizam expected that the UN implementation for SMK would prove a motivation for the SMA/MK version to run smoothly. He mentioned that there was no report regarding distribution of answer keys or leakage of exam questions. Nevertheless, Nizam said that efforts were being made to ensure the problems that occurred with the SMK version of UNBK would not resurface in the SMA/MA version.

 

 

Ujian Nasional Harus Bebas Kecurangan

Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan akan memberikan sanksi pada guru yang terbukti melakukan kecurangan selama penyelenggaraan ujian nasional (UN) 2017. Kemendikbud mengimbau seluruh daerah dan sekolah agar waspada terhadap praktik kecurangan. Kepala Pusat Penilaian Pendidikan Kemendikbud Nizam mengatakan, pemerintah pusat sudah menyiapkan sanksi bagi mereka yang terbukti melakukan kecurangan. Tujuannya untuk menjauhkan pendidikan di Indonesia dari praktik kecurangan selama UN.

Kemendikbud juga mengeluarkan ancaman bagi oknum guru yang terlibat melakukan kecurangan. Bagi oknum guru yang terbukti telah berbuat curang selama pelaksanaan UN, akan mendapat sanksi tegas dari pemerintah. Sanksi itu dibedakan dalam beberapa kriteria. Sanksi paling ringan adalah penghentian tunjangan profesi pada oknum guru. Lalu, sanksi lainnya berupa pencabutan hingga pemecatan sebagai guru.

Pemerintah pusat juga mengimbau kepada pihak terkait untuk membantu penyelenggaran UNBK jenjang pendidikan SMA. Agar, kendala yang muncul saat pelaksanaan UNBK SMK tidak terjadi lagi di UNBK SMA, pihak terkait yang dimaksud Nizam, antara lain, komunitas IT, peretas, para pakar, penyedia layanan internet, PLN, dan masyarakat.

National Exam Should be Free of Cheating

The Ministry of Education and Culture will impose sanctions on teachers who are proven to commit fraud during the 2017 national exams (UN). The Kemendikbud urged all regions and schools in order to guard against fraudulent practices. Head of Kemendikbud Educational Assessment Center, Nizam said that the central government has already set /prepared penalties for those proven to commit fraud. The goal is to keep education in Indonesia to steer clear of fraudulent practices during the UN.

Kemendikbud also issued threats to teacher perpetrators involved in fraud.  Teacher perpetrators proven fraudulent during the implementation of the UN would receive strict punishment from the government. The sanctions are divided into several criteria. The lightest sanction is termination of professional allowance of the teacher perpetrator. Then, other sanctions are revocation to dismissal as teacher.

The central government also appealed to the relevant stakeholders to assist the implementation of the computer based national exam (UNBK) of the high school (SMA) level; so that the constraints that emerged during the implementation of vocational high school (SMK) UNBK would not occur again in the SMA UNBK.    The relevant parties as meant by Nizam are among others, the IT community, hackers, experts, internet service providers, PLN (State Electric Company), and society.

Jokowi Kirim Peralatan Sekolah ke Perbatasan

Presiden Joko Widodo mengirimkan peralatan sekolah ke lima sekolah dasar negeri di perbatasan Kalimantan. Hal itu dilakukan untuk merespons permintaan peralatan sekolah dari sejumlah anak SD di Kabupaten Bengkayang, Kalimantan Barat, yang diunggah melalui media sosial Youtube.

Staf Khusus Kepresidenan bidang Komunikasi Johan Budi mengatakan, Presiden melihat video tersebut dan langsung memerintahkan stafnya untuk berangkat ke ibu kota Kalimantan Barat Pontianak, Kamis (6/4). Di Pontianak, tim berbelanja perlengkapan sekolah. Paket peralatan sekolah tersebut antara lain tas, seragam, tempat air minum, beserta perlengkapan sekolah, seperti buku tulis, pensil, penggaris, dan krayon.

Paket tersebut akan dibagikan kepada 140 siswa di SD Negeri 04 Sukung, Kabupaten Bengkayang, Kalimantan Barat. Selain itu, paket juga akan dikirimkan ke sejumlah sekolah lain, yakni SDN 09 Senoleng (151 siswa), SDN 10 Medeng (168 siswa), SDN 11 Senebeh (148 siswa), dan SDN 07 Kaput (35 siswa).

Adanya permintaan sejumlah anak sekolah di perbatasan Kalimantan Barat tersebut, kata Johan juga menjadi catatan Presiden untuk memerintahkan jajaran di bawahnya agar memikirkan apa yang dibutuhkan masyarakat di perbatasan. Dalam video berdurasu 1 menit 55 detik itu, kondisi SDN 04 Sukung juga ditampilkan yaitu plafon terlepas, pintu dan lantai papan blong, serta meja dan bangku yang tampak lapuk.

Jokowi Sends School Equipment to Border

President Joko Widodo has delivered school supplies to five state primary schools (SDN) in the Kalimantan border. This was done in response to requests for school supplies from a number of primary school children in Bengkayang, West Kalimantan, uploaded through the Youtube social media.

Presidential Special Staff on Communication, Johan Budi said that the President saw the video and immediately ordered his staff to head to the capital of West Kalimantan Pontianak, Thursday (6/4). In Pontianak, the team shopped for school supplies. School equipment packages included school bags, uniforms, drinking bottles, as well as school supplies, such as notebooks, pencils, rulers, and crayons.

The packages will be distributed to 140 students at SDN 04 Sukung, Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan. In addition, packages will also be sent to a number of other schools, namely SDN 09 Senoleng (151 students), SDN 10 Medeng (168 students), SDN 11 Senebeh (148 students), and SDN 07 Kaput (35 students).

The requests from a number of school children in the West Kalimantan border, said Johan is also a note for the President to instruct subordinates to think about what the communities need at the border. The 1 minute 55 second video also showed the condition of SDN 04 Sukung with detached ceilings, doors and floor boards removed as well as weathered tables and benches.
