Gaya Hidup ‘Hedonisme’ di Kalangan Mahasiswa Menjadi Sorotan

Menteri Sosial, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, dalam sebuah seminar di Instutut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Kendari, Sulawesi Tenggara, mengatakan, gaya hidup konsumerisme dan hedonisme telah memengaruhi kalangan mahasiswa Indonesia,  sehingga menyebabkan mereka kurang berpikir secara kritis terhadap masalah-masalah sosial dan politik yang menimpa masyarakat yang kurang beruntung.

Dalam seminar yang bertema “Urgensi Peran Perguruan Tinggi Islam dalam Menanggulangi Masalah-Masalah Sosial” itu, Mensos juga mengkritisi civitas academica yang telah membuat mahasiswa menjadi apatis dan apolitis dan tidak mendorong mereka untuk aktif berpartisipasi dalam menanggulangi penyakit-penyakit sosial.

Mensos mengatakan, saat melaksanan program kuliah kerja nyata (KKN), seharusnya para mahasiswa meminta untuk dikirim ke daerah-daerah terpencil agar mereka dapat berkontribusi dalam program-program kesejahteraan dari pemerintah bagi penduduk setempat.

Mensos Khofifah mengatakan, dalam program KKN itu mereka dapat melakukan kegiatan bagi masyarakat miskin dan terpinggirkan, serta membantu program Nawacita Presiden Joko Widodo yang salah satu tujuannya adalah mengurangi angka kemiskinan di Indonesia.

Ia menambahkan, desa menjadi sasaran utama karena angka kemiskinan di desa dua kali lipat lebih tinggi ketimbang di kota. Hampir sebesar 14 persen penduduk miskin ada di desa. Sementara, di kota hanya sebesar 7,73 persen.

‘Hedonistic’ University Students Under Spotlight

Social Affairs Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa, at a seminar held by the Kendari State Islamic Institute (IAIN) said that a consumeristic, hedonistic lifestyle has depoliticized university students in Indonesia, preventing them from thinking critically about social and political problems that beset those less fortunate than them.

The seminar was called “Islamic Higher Education Institutions’ Roles in Resolving Social Issues” and in it the minister also took the opportunity to criticize the universities themselves for encouraging the students’ apathetic and apolitical outlook instead of pushing them to participate in curing society’s ills.

The minister said the students should ask to be sent to remote areas for their internship program, known locally as “Kuliah Kerja Nyata” (KKN), where they can contribute to welfare programs for local residents.

Minister Khofifah said, they can help the poor and the marginalized, and help President Joko Widodo achieve one of the goals of his Nawacita [nine-prong development program] to eradicate poverty in Indonesia.

She added that the Nawacita program is targeting villages since poverty in Indonesia’s countryside is two times higher than in urban areas. She said, almost 14 percent of people living in the countryside live well below the poverty line. The figure in urban areas is only 7.73 percent.

Lembaga Penjamin Mutu Pesantren Jangan Reaktif

Wakil Ketua Komisi VIII DPR, Sodik Mudjahid, menilai, kehadiran Lembaga Penjaminan Mutu Pesantren itu sangat diperlukan, terlebih untuk perbaikan di bidang pendidikan. Sebab, untuk proses pendekatan mutu sendiri, termasuk bagi pesantren, syaratnya ada standarisasi dan ada lembaga penjamin mutu.

Namun, ia mengingatkan, lembaga penjamin mutu harusnya mengurusi peningkatan mutu seluruh elemen dan komponen di aspek-aspek pendidikan. Di antaranya, mutu produk, output, proses, kurikulum, SDM dan manajemen. Artinya, lembaga ini jangan sampai fokus pada satu elemen yang sifatnya reaktif terhadap dinamika yang ada, misalnya menyeleksi kitab-kitab cuma karena takut radikalisme.

Menurut Sodik, isu radikalisme itu memang penting tapi tidak perlu secara khusus ditangani Lembaga Penjaminan Mutu Pesantren. Menurut dia, hal-hal yang diurusi Lembaga Penjaminan Mutu Pesantren harus memiliki urgensi aspek peningkatan mutunya.

Sebelumnya, Direktur jenderal Pendidikan Islam Kemenag, Kamaruddin Amin mengatakan, Kemenag akan membentuk lembaga Penjaminan Mutu Pesantren untuk meningkatkan kualitas lembaga pendidikan Islam tertua di Nusantara itu. Pembentukan Lembaga ini berkaitan dengan rencana standarisasi pesantren karena masih banyak pesantren yang kurang memenuhi standar di Indonesia.

Quality Assurance Agency for Islamic Boarding Schools should take measured approach across all aspects

The Vice Head of Commission VIII DPR, Sodik Mudjahid, believed the Quality Assurance Agency for Islamic Boarding Schools was necessary, especially to upgrade the educational field. This was due to its approach to quality and standardization including in Islamic boarding schools, that the quality assurance agency was required.

However, he stressed that the quality assurance agency should oversee the upgrade in quality across all elements and components of the educational aspects, such as the product, the output, the process, the curriculum, the human resources, and the management. This meant that the agency should not just focus on the reactive element, for instance selecting holy books due only to concerns about radicalism.

Sodik believed that while it was necessary to be concerned about radicalism, this should not be specifically resolved by the Quality Assurance Agency of Islamic Boarding Schools. In his opinion, the Quality Assurance Agency for Islamic Boarding Schools should concentrate its efforts on the aspect of upgrading quality.

On an earlier occasion, the Directorate General of Islamic Education of Kemenag, Kamaruddin Amin, said that Kemenag would upgrade the quality of this the oldest Islamic Education Agency in the country.  The formation of this agency was related to the plan for standardization of Islamic boarding schools, as many still did not meet the educational standards in Indonesia.

Kendala Server sudah Diatasi

Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Kemendikbud) memastikan tidak ada lagi kendala saat ujian nasional (UN) dan UN berbasis komputer (UNBK) berlangsung, Selasa (18/4). Menurut Kepala Pusat Penilaian Pendidikan (Puspendik) Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan (Balitbang) Kemendikbud, Nizam, pihaknya sudah mengantisipasi hal-hal yang membuat UN susulan mesti dilakukan.

Nizam mengatakan, sebanyak 65 ribu siswa SMA dan SMK di Tanah Air harus mengikuti UN susulan karena masalah soal ujian menghilang saat UN untuk SMK digelar. Ketika itu 10 butir soal ujian mata pelajaran teori kejuruan tidak muncul di komputer siswa, terutama pada 16 mata pelajaran dari 169 mata pelajaran teori kejuruan yang ditawarkan.

Agar itu tidak terulang, Nizam menegaskan sudah mengantisipasinya. Menurutnya, proses sinkronisasi atau pengunduhan butir soal UN susulan sudah berjalan pada Minggu (16/4). Nizam mengatakan kejadian soal ujian tidak muncul, tak akan terjadi lagi karena sudah dilakukan perbaikan. Selain itu, pengunduh soal ujian jauh lebih sedikit jika dibandingkan dengan UN utama.

Nizam menambahkan, jumlah peserta UN susulan tidak banyak jika dibandingkan dengan UN utama sehingga pelaksanaan UN susulan SMA/MA dan SMK dijadikan satu. Selain UN susulan, kemarin juga dilangsungkan UN perbaikan (UNP) bagi peserta UN tahun lalu dan tahun sebelumnya yang belum mencapai nilai minimum (55). Jumlah peserta UNP sekitar 2.500 orang.

Server Problem Resolved

The Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) gave assurance Tuesday (18/4) that there would no longer be any problems while the National Exam (UN) and the computer-based national exam were being held. According to the Head of Education Assessment Center (Puspendik) of Research and Development (Balitbang) of Kemendikbud, Nizam, his department had discerned the problems that could affect the backup UN.

Nizam stated that there were SMA and SMK 65,000 students in the country who needed to take the backup UN. This was due to the exam questions disappearing when the original SMK UN was being held. At that time, there were 10 questions of vocational theory subject that did not appear on students’ computers. This occurred mainly in 16 of the 169 vocational theory subjects that were on offer.

To avoid such a problem occurring again later, Nizam confirmed that his department had rectified this. He believed the synchronization or the download process of the UN questions had been run on Sunday (16/4). Nizam said that the problem of disappearing questions would no longer occur, because improvements had been made. In addition, there would be fewer students downloading these exam questions than in the original UN.

Nizam added that with the number participating in the backup UN being less than in the original UN, its implementation at SMA/MA and SMK levels could all be held at the same time. Yesterday, besides the backup UN, the remedial UN (UNP) for UN participants from last year and the year before who had failed to reach the minimum score (55) was also implemented. The participants were about 2,500 people in total.

Profesi Guru Terbuka untuk Sarjana Nonkependidikan

Profesi guru tidak lagi mutlak dilakoni oleh sarjana kependidikan dari lembaga pendidik tenaga kependidikan. Peluang untuk menjadi guru profesional di jenjang pendidikan anak usia dini hingga menengah sudah terbuka untuk sarjana nonkependidikan. Hal itu diungkapkan Direktur Pembelajaran Direktorat Jenderal Pembelajaran dan Kemahasiswaan Kementerian Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi Paristiyanti Nurwardani, di Jakarta, Selasa (18/4).

Paristiyanti menjelaskan, guru yang berada di sekolah haruslah guru profesional yang menjalani pendidikan profesi guru (PPG). Mulai tahun ini, calon guru yang ikut PPG tidak lagi dari peserta Sarjana Mendidik di Daerah Terdepan, Terluar, dan Tertinggal (SM3T).

Menurut Paristiyanti, sekitar lima tahun, calon guru profesional diseleksi lewat program SM3T yang bertugas mengabdi satu tahun di daerah 3T. Lalu, mereka diberi beasiswa pendidikan PPG berasrama selama satu tahun di lembaga pendidik tenaga kependidikan (LPTK) pemerintah. Mereka inilah yang diprioritaskan menjadi guru PNS, termasuk melalui Guru Garis Depan untuk mengisi kekurangan guru di daerah 3T.

Paristiyanti menambahkan, dari evaluasi selama ini, guru SM3T itu tidak sesuai ketentuan. Sebab, mereka belum punya sertifikat pendidik, tetapi sudah mengajar di sekolah. Mulai tahun ini, PPG SM3T ditiadakan dan akan dikembangkan model PPG reguler yang baru.

Teacher Profession is Open for Non-Educational Undergraduates

The teacher profession is no longer just carried out by educational scholars from teacher profession education institutes. The opportunity to become professional teachers in the early childhood education level up to secondary level is open to non-educational undergraduates. This was revealed by the Director of Learning of the Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristek Dikti), Paristiyanti Nurwardani, in Jakarta, Tuesday (18/4).

Paristiyanti explained that teachers who teach in school must be professional teachers who undergo teachers’ professional education (PPG). Beginning this year, prospective teachers taking part in PPG are no longer participants of the Undergraduate Educators in the Frontier, Outermost, and Disadvantaged Regions (SM3T).

According to Paristiyanti, for about five years, prospective professional teachers are selected through the SM3T program tasked to serve for one year in the 3T regions. Then, they are given a one-year boarding PPG education scholarship in a government LPTK or educator education institute. They are the ones who are prioritized to be civil servant teachers, including those through the Front Line Teachers to fill teacher shortages in 3T areas.

Paristiyanti added that based on evaluation so far, SM3T teachers were not in accordance with the provisions. Because, they do not yet have educator certificates, but already taught in schools. Beginning this year, PPG SM3T will be discontinued and a new regular PPG model will be developed.

Guru SMK Dilatih di Perancis

Direktorat Jenderal Guru dan Tenaga Kependidikan (Ditjen GTK) Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Kemendikbud) akan mengirim 100 guru sekolah menengah kejuruan (SMK) terpilih ke Prancis untuk menempuh pendidikan dan pelatihan. Untuk tahap awal, Kemendikbud memberangkatkan 18 guru.

Di sela pelepasan 18 guru SMK tersebut di Jakarta, Rabu (19/4), Mendikbud Muhadjir Effendy mengatakan, ia berharap guru SMK tersebut mendapat pengalaman belajar signifikan di Prancis. Nantinya, diharapkan mereka dapat menularkan secara positif hasil pelatihan yang dijalani guna mencetak mutu lulusan siswa SMK yang kompeten dan terampil.

Muhadjir menjelaskan langkah meningkatkan kualitas guru SMK itu sebagai bentuk komitmen pemerintah menerapkan Instruksi Presiden (Inpres) No 9 Tahun 2016 tentang Revitalisasi SMK dalam rangka peningkatan daya saing sumber daya manusia (SDM) Indonesia. Dalam hal ini Kemendikbud bekerja sama dengan Kementerian Pendidikan Nasional, Pendidikan Tinggi, dan Penelitian Prancis, dengan melaksanakan pelatihan bagi 100 guru SMK dan Widyaiswara Pusat Pengembangan dan Pemberdayaan Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan (P4TK) di Prancis. Ke-18 guru SMK yang diberangkatkan pada tahap pertama akan menjalani pelatihan pada tiga bidang keahlian, yaitu energi terbarukan, aeronautika (pesawat udara), dan pariwisata.

Pada kesempatan sama, Dirjen Guru dan Tenaga Kependidikan Kemendikbud, Sumarna Surapranata, menjelaskan ke-18 guru itu dijadwalkan berangkat ke Prancis pada 22 April. Adapun pelatihan akan dimulai pada 24 April hingga 17 Juni 2017. Sebelum diberangkatkan, peserta mengikuti kegiatan pembekalan agar peserta memahami program pelatihan dan tugas-tugas yang harus dikerjakan selama pelatihan. Mereka juga dibekali dengan kemampuan berbahasa Prancis sehari-hari, pengetahuan budaya, dan sistem pendidikan di negara tersebut.

SMK Teachers Trained in France

The Directorate General of Teachers and Educational Personnel (Ditjen GTK) of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) will send 100 selected vocational high school teachers (SMK) to France for education and training. For the initial phase, Kemendikbud will dispatch 18 teachers.

On the sidelines of the release of 18 SMK teachers event in Jakarta on Wednesday (19/4), Mendikbud, Muhadjir Effendy said he hoped that the vocational school teachers will gain significant learning experience in France. Later, it is expected they can transmit positively the results of the training undertaken to produce qualified SMK graduates who are competent and skilled.

Muhadjir explained that the step to improving the quality of SMK teachers is a form of government commitment to implement Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 9 of 2016 on the revitalization of SMKs in order to improve the competitiveness of Indonesian human resources (HR). In this case, the Kemendikbud is in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research of France, by conducting training for 100 SMK teachers and Widyaiswara of the Center for the Development and Empowerment of Educators and Education Personnel (P4TK) in France. The 18 SMK teachers who are dispatched in the first phase will undergo training in three areas of expertise, namely renewable energy, aeronautics (aircraft), and tourism.

On the same occasion, Kemendikbud’s Director General of Teachers and Education Personnel, Sumarna Surapranata, explained that the 18 teachers are scheduled to leave for France on April 22. The training will start on 24 April until 17 June 2017. Before departure, participants participate in the debriefing activities so that participants understand the training program and the tasks that must be done during the training. They are also equipped with daily French language skills, cultural knowledge, and the education system in that country.
