Pelajar Indonesia Raih Medali di Ajang ICYS

Sebuah tim peneliti yang terdiri dari 8 pelajar dari seluruh Indonesia meraih beberapa medali dalam  ajang The International Conference of Young Scientists (ICYS) yang diselenggarakan pada 16-22 April 2017, di Stuttgart, Jerman.

Hokky Sutangkir, salah satu instruktur dari Center of Young Scientists Indonesia, Minggu (23/4), mengatakan, tim peneliti dari Indonesia itu meraih satu medali emas, dua perak dan dua penghargaan khusus dalam enam jenis penelitian yang dilombakan dalam kompetisi tersebut. Hokky mengatakan bahwa setiap peneliti harus menyerahkan poster penelitian, yang juga dinilai dalam kompetisi tersebut.

Fifa Fatimasiefa dan Bramsto Rahman Prasodjo dari Sekolah Chandra Kusuma, Medan, meraih medali emas dengan judul penelitian “Braille Learning Algorithm”, sebuah alat yang ditujukan bagi penyandang tuna netra agar mereka dapat mempelajari braille secara mandiri.

Kartika Pertiwi dari SMAN 2 Wonosari meraih medali perak untuk kategori sains lingkungan dengan judul penelitian “The Power of Tree Architecture”, yang meneliti tentang manfaat ‘arsitektur pohon’ untuk mencegah erosi

Sementara, Sabrina Salwa Sabila dan Gusti Salsabila dari SMAN 1 Sampit menerima penghargaan khusus untuk kategori Life Sciences dengan judul penelitian “Kalapapa Dayak’s Ancient Plant as a Potential Natural Cure for Tonsillitis”, yang meneliti tentang manfaat obat tradisional yang digunakan oleh suku Dayak.

Indonesia mulai berpartsipasi dalam ajang tersebut yaitu pada 2015, ketika ICYS ke 12 digelar di Katowice, Polandia.

A team of eight Indonesian research students from across the nation have won several awards at the International Conference of Young Scientists (ICYS) 2017 held in Stuttgart, Germany, from April 16 to 22.

Hokky Sutangkir, a coach from the Center of Young Scientists Indonesia, said on Sunday that the Indonesian team had won one gold medal, two silver and two special awards in six types of research evaluated in the competition. Hokky said that each researcher had to submit research poster, which were also assessed in the competition.

Fifa Fatmasiefa and Bramsto Rahman Prasodjo from Chandra Kusuma School Medan won the gold medal with their presentation “Braille Learning Algorithm,” which aimed to create tools for blind people that would enable them to learn braille by themselves.

Kartika Pertiwi from Wonosari 2 High School won silver with her presentation in the environment science category titled “The Power of Tree Architecture,” which looked at utilizing “tree architecture” to prevent erosion.

While, Sabrina Salwa Sabila and Gusti Salsabila from Sampit 1 High School received the Life Sciences special award for their study titled “Kalapapa Dayak’s Ancient Plant as a Potential Natural Cure for Tonsillitis,” which assessed the benefit of traditional medicine used by the Dayak tribe.

Indonesia has been participating in the ICYS since its 12^th iteration in Katowice, Poland, in 2005.

Universitas Indonesia Segera Miliki Rumah Sakit Pendidikan

Berdirinya 12 rumah sakit pendidikan yang ada saat ini, masih jauh dari target awalnya yaitu 24 rumah sakit pendidikan. Meski ke 12 rumah sakit (RS) yang telah dibangun tersebut hanya memerlukan waktu singkat untuk mendirikannya, yaitu dalam jangka waktu satu tahun.  Hal tersebut diperjelas oleh pernyataan Ketua Komite Bersama RS Pendidikan, yang juga Direktur Jenderal Sumber Daya Iptek dan Dikti, Prof.dr. Ali Ghufron Mukti mengatakan bahwa selama ini Kemenristekdikti memang mendirikan dan membiayai RS Pendidikan.

Di antara pembangunan rumah sakit Universitas yang ditargetkan tersebut, Rumah Sakit Universitas Indonesia (RSUI) juga termasuk salah satunya. Di mana pembangunan rumah sakit ini sudah hampir rampung 92 persen. Diharapkan sudah bisa melayani masyarakat sekitar awal tahun 2018

Jika melihat dari Peraturan Pemerintah No.93 tahun 2015, yang dimaksud Rumah Sakit Pendidikan adalah rumah sakit yang mempunyai fungsi sebagai tempat pendidikan, penelitian, dan pelayanan kesehatan secara terpadu dalam bidang pendidikan kedokteran atau kedokteran gigi, pendidikan berkelanjutan, dan pendidikan kesehatan lainnya secara multi profesi.

Rektor UI Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Anis, M.Met, mengatakan, Kemenristekdikti  mendukung RSUI sebagai salah satu jalan keluar akan kebutuhan tenaga kesehatan. Development of world class university pada UI tujuannya meningkatkan kapasitas pendidikan untuk berkontribusi pada kualitas layanan dan penyediaan layanan primer, tersier dan sekunder. RSUI merupakan Rumah Sakit PTN pertama di Indonesia yang memiliki konsep dan rancang bangun sebagai fasilitas pelayanan kesehatan satu atap (One Stop Health Service), mulai dari pelayanan primer, sekunder hingga pelayanan unggulan.

University of Indonesia Teaching Hospital On Course

The establishment of 12 teaching hospitals is currently behind the earlier target of 24 teaching hospitals, even though these 12 hospitals were built in just one year. This was emphasized in the statement of the Chairman of Joint Committee of Teaching Hospitals, who is also the Director General of Human Resources for Science, Technology, and Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Ali Ghufron Mukti. He stated that Kemenristekdikti had actually built and funded the Teaching Hospital (RS).

The establishment of University of Indonesia Hospital (RSUI), is one such University Hospitals establishment. RSUI is almost 92 percent completed and is expected to start operating in early 2018.

According to the Government Regulation Number 93 year 2015, a Teaching Hospital of Education is a hospital that functions as a place of integrated education, research, and health service in the field of medical or dental education, continuing education, and other multi-professional health education.

The Rector of UI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Anis, M.Met, stated that Kemenristekdikti supported RSUI to become a solution for the needs of health professionals. The purpose of the development of a world class university in UI is to upgrade the educational capacity in contributing to the quality of service and the provision of primary, secondary, and tertiary service. RSUI is the first Public University (PTN) in Indonesia that has the concept and design of one-stop health service, from the primary, secondary, to flagship service.

Jagai Anakta untuk Lindungi Anak

Pemerintah Kota Makassar, Sulawesi Selatan, dan Kementerian Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindung-an Anak (PP-PA) meluncurkan program Jagai Anakta, Minggu (23/4). Jagai Anakta merupakan program komprehensif dalam penanganan anak-anak bermasalah, termasuk anak-anak telantar, dari pencegahan hingga rehabilitasi melalui pendampingan.

Wali Kota Makassar Danny Pomanto dalam pelucuran program tersebut  mengatakan pihaknya akan kampanyekan program Jagai Anakta secara masif sebab ini menyangkut masa depan bangsa dan kita semua. Menurut rencana, lanjut Danny, pihaknya akan menyediakan lahan untuk pembangunan children center yang memiliki fasilitas penunjang pendidikan lengkap dan terpadu bagi anak-anak. Termasuk penyediaan rumah bakat untuk membina talenta anak-anak. Ia pun mengharapkan dukungan semua pihak.

Dirnya berharap kesadaran masyarakat untuk bersama-sama mau menjaga anak-anak dapat terus tumbuh. Tidak hanya anak mereka, tapi juga untuk saling memberikan perhatian dan pengawasan pada setiap anak di Makassar.

Pada kesempatan sama, Deputi Bidang Koordinasi Perlindungan Perempuan dan Anak Kemenko Pembangunan Manusia dan Kebudayaan, Sujatmiko, mengatakan angka kekerasan terhadap perempuan dan anak tidak pernah menurun. Sebaliknya, angka tersebut terus meningkat.

Jagai Anakta to Protect Children

Government of Makassar, South Sulawesi, and the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (PP-PA) released the program Jagai Anakta, on Sunday (23/4). Jagai Anakta is a comprehensive program to provide assistance for children with problems, including abandoned children, by providing facilities to help with their rehabilitation.

The Mayor of Makasar, Danny Pomanto, at the launch of the program, said that his administration would strongly campaign for the program Jagai Anakta, as this program relates to the future of our country. Based on the plan, Danny stated that his party would provide the land on which to build the children’s center that will have complete, integrated education supporting facilities. One of these will be a talent home to foster the children’s talents. He also expects support from all parties.

He also expects that the concern of all society in regard to protecting children will continue to grow. In addition, members of society should pay attention and oversee not just their own children but also every child in Makassar.

On the same occasion, the Deputy of Coordination Protection of Women and Children Division of the Ministry of Human Development and Culture, Sujatmiko, stated that the number of cases of violence towards women and children never decreases. In fact, the numbers continue to increase.

UN Kesetaraan Berbasis Komputer Dimulai 2018

Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan RI menargetkan penyelenggaraan ujian nasional (UN) kesetaraan (persamaan) berbasis komputer untuk peserta didik nonformal Kejar Paket C di seluruh wilayah Indonesia. Kepala Seksi Budaya Baca Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) dan Pendidikan Masyarakat (Dikmas) Kemendikbud Mochammad Kalipi mengatakan, tahun ini sudah ada yang merintis, dan pihaknya berharap mulai 2018 sudah semakin banyak yang melaksanakan UNBK.

Ia mengatakan, sementara ini pelaksanaan UN kesetaraan dengan perangkat/berbasis komputer baru dilaksanakan di beberapa pusat kegiatan belajar-mengajar (PKBM) wilayah Depok, Jawa Barat. Namun seiring proses yang berjalan, ia berharap pemutakhiran sistem UN untuk peserta pendidikan nonformal ataupun bertujuan mengikuti ujian kesetaraan di sela pekerjaan rutin sehari-hari secepatnya bisa menular ke PKBM-PKBM lain.

Dari pantaunnya sejauh ini tidak ada kendala serius saat pelaksanaan UNPK, baik dari pendistribusian naskah, peserta maupun lainnya. Untuk bisa memenuhi harapan penyelenggaraan UN berbasis komputer, pihaknya berharap pemerintah daerah juga turut mendukung dengan memberikan bantuan kepada para satuan pendidikan nonformal untuk bisa melaksanakan ujian tersebut.  Misalnya, dengan bantuan pengadaan sarana prasarana maupun lainnya. Hal itu dilakukan agar, keseteraan ini memiliki standard integritas yang sama seperti halnya pendidikan formal SMA/SMK.

Computer Based Equivalency UN Begins 2018

The Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia targets the implementation of the computer-based equivalency national exam (UN) for students of non-formal Kejar Paket C throughout Indonesia. Head of Reading Culture Section of the Directorate General of Early Childhood Education (PAUD) and Community Education (Dikmas) Kemendikbud Mochammad Kalipi said this year there are those already pioneering, and he hopes that by 2018, more and more are implementing UNBK.

He said that meanwhile the implementation of the computer-based equivalency UN is only conducted in several teaching and learning activities centers (PKBM) of Depok, West Java.  But as the process progresses, he hopes that the updating of the UN system for non-formal education participants or for the purpose of taking the equivalency test on the sidelines of daily routine work could  as soon as possible be transmitted to other PKBM.

From his monitoring so far there are no serious obstacles during the implementation of UNPK, either from the distribution of manuscripts, participants and others. To be able to meet the expectations of the implementation of computer-based UN, he hopes regional administrations also support by providing assistance to non-formal education units to be able to carry out the exam. For example, with the help of procurement of equipment and infrastructure and others. It is done so that this equivalency has the same standard of integrity as the SMA/SMK formal education.

Pemerintah Terapkan Zonasi Penerimaan Siswa Baru 2017/2018

Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia Muhadjir Effendy mengatakan pemerintah akan memulai menerapkan sistem zonasi dalam penerimaan murid baru mulai tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Dalam sistem itu tidak boleh ada siswa di yang tidak diterima di sebuah sekolah, apapun alasannya.

Ia mengatakan hal itu mangatasi pelajar untuk berburu masuk ke sekolah-sekolah favorit yang jauh dari tempat dia berdomisili atau keluar dari daerahnya. Muhadjir mengatakan, semua sekolah sekarang harus jadi favorit. Dengan cara zonasi itu dapat mengatasi timbulnya sekolah favorit.

Menurutnya, sebelumnya penerimaan murid baru di sekolah-sekolah negeri menggunakan nilai tertinggi yang berasal dari nilai evaluasi belajar murni (NEM).  Akibatnya, banyak muncul sekolah-sekolah favorit yang berdampak negatif pada beberapa hal, seperti para murid berlomba untuk masuk sekolah favorit tersebut, sehingga banyak sekolah yang kurang favorit jadi kekurangan murid.

Untuk itu pemerintah akan merubah sistem penerimaan siswa baru yang menggunakan NEM atau grade menjadi berdasarkan zonasi, sehingga semua sekolah baik negeri maupun swasta wajib untuk menerima murid-murid baru yang masuk dalam radius zonasinya.

Muhadjir menambahkan untuk menerapkan sistem zonasi tersebut, peran Musyawarah Kerja Kepala Sekolah (MKKS), mulai dari SD hingga SMA sangat dibutuhkan karena ia akan menetapkan kuota masing-masing sekolah di zonanya.

Government Applies New Student Admissions Zoning 2017/2018

Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Muhadjir Effendy said the government will begin implementing the zoning system in the new student admissions starting academic year 2017/2018. In that system there should be no students not accepted in a school, whatever the reason.

He said it addresses students from hunting for admission to favorite schools far from where they live or out of their areas. Muhadjir said all schools should now be favorites. Zoning could overcome the emergence of favorite schools.

According to him, previously the admissions of new students in state schools uses the highest scores derived from the score of pure learning evaluation (NEM). As a result, many favorite schools appeared which have a negative impact, such as students vying to enter favorite schools, so that many of the less favorite schools are short of pupils.

To that end, the government will change the new admissions system using NEM or grade to be based on zoning, so that all state and private schools are obliged to accept new students who enter the zoning radius.

Muhadjir added to implement the zoning system, the role of School Principal Working Deliberation/Committee (MKKS), ranging from primary (SD) to high school (SMA) is needed because it will set the quota of the respective schools in their zones.
