Padjadjaran University is again the state university (PTN) with the highest number of enthusiasts throughout Indonesia in the State Higher Education Entrance National Selection (SNMPTN) 2017. The number of applicants reached 39,388 people. Meanwhile, only 2,369 people are accepted/admitted or about 6.08 percent of the total applicants.
Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of Padjadjaran University, Arry Bainus, explained, despite the highest number of enthusiasts, this figure decreased compared to last year. This decrease is due to regulation limiting the number of registrants. Accredited A schools have a maximum registration limit of 50 percent from previously 75 percent. Similarly, accredited B schools have a maximum limit of 30 percent from the previous 50 percent.
