Unpad is PTN with Highest Enthusiasts in SNMPTN

Padjadjaran University once again became the state university (PTN) with the highest number of enthusiasts throughout Indonesia in the SNMPTN (state higher education entrance national selection) for 2017, which reached 39,388 people with 2,369 applicants accepted, or about 6.08 percent of the total applicants.  Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of Padjadjaran University, Dr Arry Bainus said that despite having the highest number of enthusiasts, this number has decreased compared to last year.

Arry said that the decline was due to a regulation, limiting the number of applicants in each school based on their accreditations. Schools that are accredited A have a maximum number of applicants of 50 percent, from previously 75 percent. Similarly, schools with B accreditation have a maximum limit of 30 percent from previously 50 percent.

He said that with the high number of enthusiasts, Unpad set for prospective students accepted through the SNMPTN path are the first choice registrants. In addition, he also assessed that participants who passed the SNMPTN are the participants with the best qualifications and are able to compete with thousands of other registrants.

He explained that the Medical study program is one with the highest number of enthusiasts reaching 3,769 people, followed by Management (3,194), Pharmacy (3.128), Communication Studies (2.786), Accounting (2,690), Psychology (2,626), Nursing (2,468), Law (2,221), and Informatics Engineering (2,022).
