SBMPTN Runs Smoothly

The implementation of the State Higher Education Entrance Joint Selection (SBMPTN) 2017 in general was considered to have run well and smoothly. Even though some participants arrived late, they could still take the exams. This was revealed by Secretary General of Kemenristekdikti, Ainun Na’im when he observed the implementation of SBMPTN 2017 at the Health Science Building  and Faculty of Law University of Indonesia, Depok, West Java, yesterday (16/5).

As understood, the 2017 SBMPTN Exams were held simultaneously throughout Indonesia from Tuesday to Thursday, 16-18 May 2017.  The test location in the Area 1 Jakarta consists of four universities namely UI, UNJ, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah and UPN ‘Veteran’ Jakarta .

Jakarta Local Committee Chairman of SBMPTN 2017, Bambang Wibawarta, said that the test in the Jakarta local committee area was followed by 68,764 participants consisting of 25,995 participants for science-technology exam, 35,587 for the social humanities exam and 5,467 for mixed exams and there are special needs exam participants.  This year, SBMPTN again applied two test methods, namely the paper based test (PBT), followed by 67,049 participants, and the computer based test (CBT) with 1,715 participants.

Meanwhile, related to ransomware wannacry virus that attacked several hospitals and some countries did not interfere with the implementation of SBMPTN CBT because the central SBMPTN committee had anticipated by conducting Internet isolation. In fact, the connection between central and local committee servers is only done temporarily.
