Schools Required to Accept Smart Indonesia Program Students

Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) reminded, every school is obliged to accept children aged six to 21 years, holders of Indonesia Pintar Program (PIP) cards.  This is stipulated in the Joint Regulation between the Director General of Primary and Secondary Education, and the Director General of Early Childhood Education and Community Education.

The regulation prioritizes the target of PIP beneficiaries as children who hold Smart Indonesian Cards (KIP) coming from poor /prone to poverty families and/ or with special consideration such as coming from families, participants of Family Hope Program (PKH), families that are holders of Prosperous Family Cards (KKS), students who are orphaned from schools/ social homes/ orphanages.

In addition, the recipients are learners affected by natural disasters, inclusions, casualties, from parents who were dismissed from work, in conflict areas, from convicted families, residing in prisons, having more than three siblings residing in the same house, participants in a course institution or other non-formal education units, and vocational high school students who are studying the expertise groups in agriculture, animal husbandry, forestry, and shipping / maritime.
