The ranking of the University of Indonesia (UI) at the world level rose to 277th place in the world, which had previously ranked 325th or rose 48 points from the ranking in 2016.   UI Rector Muhammad Anis said this rating reaffirms UI expertise as the nation’s best university in the social humanities field, health and technological science.

He said UI’s achievement was the result of the hard work of all UI academicians.  In 2017, UI continues to intensify the implementation of international conferences to spur the development of research and innovation culture and increase the number of international scientific journal publications. UI, said Anis, focuses on the development of research and innovation based on providing solutions to the nation’s problems. In the calculations performed by the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) team, this year UI has improved significantly on the performance of International Faculty.

Subsequent performance improvements are seen in the Academic Reputation and Employer Reputation indicators. Based on a survey that had been conducted by the QS intelligence team on company leaders, UI graduates are competent, innovative and effective in working and implementing their knowledge/expertise.  Furthermore, Anis said that UI will intensively improve the quality of teaching, community service and engage in cutting-edge research to contribute to producing superior graduates to create competitive and superior value of this nation.
