Enrollers of Written Test for Entry to State Universities Are Waiting for National Exam Results

The number of enrollers in the joint selection for entry to state universities (SBMPTN) on the first day, yesterday, was still about 9,000 students. That number was relatively far from the target set by the SBMPTN committee, i.e. 600 thousand students.

The Chairman of SBMPTN 2013, Akhmaloka, said they had predicted that the number of enrollers would be small in the beginning of the enrolment. It is predicted that the number will increase following the announcement of the national exam results on May 24 and the national selection for entry to state universities (SNMPTN) on May 28.

Meanwhile, the Rector of Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) also said that as it was only the first day, the committee still could not sort the enrollers based on provinces and the state universities and the study programs chosen.

The written test for SBMPTN will be held on June 18-19, whereas the skills test will be held on June 20 or 21. There are 900 thousand seats competed over in the SBMPTN.
