A number of regions say they are ready to hold elementary school exams simultaneously on 6-8 May 2013. In South Kalimantan and North Kalimantan, all examination materials have been distributed to the municipalities and regencies. Musyarim, the Head of the East Kalimantan Education Agency, confirmed that no problems had arisen in connection with the holding of the Elementary School National Examinations. A total of 77,393 students in 14 municipalities and regencies are expected to sit the examinations in East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan provinces.
In Jakarta, it has been confirmed that the examination materials have been distributed to the school groups in each area so that the examinations will be going ahead as scheduled. Jakarta Governor Jokowi said he was optimistic that the examinations would proceed smoothly. According to data from the Jakarta Provincial Education Agency, a total of 153,449 students from 3,548 schools are due to sit the examinations.
In North Maluku, the local Elementary School National Examinations Committees has completed the distribution of exam papers, with the result that the exams will go ahead simultaneously. A total of 25,496 students from 1,297 schools are expected to sit the examinations.
Meanwhile in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) and Central Sulawesi, the local education agencies have given assurances that there would be no delays as the examination materials had been distributed on schedule.
